About Us

OUR STATEMENT OF FAITH:

We believe the sixty-six books of the Bible to be the inerrant Word of God, and look to the Bible alone for sound doctrine, teaching, and theology.

We believe that God is eternally existent in three separate persons: Father, Son, and Holy Ghost.

We believe that God is personal and sovereign creator of all things.

We believe that Jesus Christ is fully God and fully human, that he was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, provided for the atonement of our sins by his substitutionary death on the cross, was bodily raised from the dead by the power of the Holy Ghost, ascended to the right hand of God the Father, and ever lives to make intercession for us.

We believe that Jesus commissioned His followers (The Church) to take the good news of his substitutionary death on the cross and resurrection from the dead to all people on the earth until he returns.

We believe that all people are by nature separated from God and are responsible for their own sin, but that salvation, redemption and forgiveness are freely offered to every person by the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ. When any person confesses and repents of their sin and receives Jesus Christ as savior and Lord, trusting Him alone to save them, that person is immediately born again and sealed by the Holy Ghost, and all their sins are forgiven and that person be-comes a child of God, destined to spend eternity with the Lord.

We believe that the gifts of the Spirit are available to the church of Jesus Christ today.

We believe that none of the gifts have been “withdrawn” by God and are available to the church in order to ful-fill the work of the great commission and edifying the Body of Christ.

We believe that the “baptism of the Holy Ghost” or “filling of the Spirit” is a separate work of the Holy Ghost, different from the work of the Holy Ghost which takes place at the point of the new birth. The “baptism” or “filling” is expressly for the empowering of the believer for the work of the particular ministry each Christian is called to.

We believe that baptism by immersion and the Lords Supper are the two ordinances of the Church. All who repent and believe on Christ as Savoir and Lord are to be baptized. Thus they declare to the world that they have died with Christ and that they have been raised with Him to walk in newness of life. The Lord’s Supper consisting of the elements – bread and the fruit of the vine – is the symbol expressing our sharing the divine nature of our Lord Jesus Christ; a memorial of his suffering death; and a prophecy of his second coming; and is enjoined on all believers “till He comes”.

We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost: they that are saved unto the resurrection of the life and eternal life in heaven, and they that are lost to the resurrection of damnation and eternal separation from God in hell.

We await the pre-tribulation rapture of the church and we believe that the second coming of Jesus Christ with his saints to rule on the earth will be personal, pre-millennial and visible.

Our activity and purpose is best served in working together in obeying the mandates of Jesus Christ: loving one another as Jesus loved us, preaching the gospel to all people, making disciples of all nations, baptizing and teaching all to continue that work.

Our priorities are Worship, Evangelism, Discipleship, and Service. We have therefore come together as a cooperative fellowship and corporate body to fulfill the vision of ministry.

Reach as many as we can with the Good News.
Teach as many as we can the Word of God.
Equip as many as we can to serve God.
Send as many as we can into various fields of ministry to proclaim the
Gospel of Jesus Christ.

The current New Hope Church that meets for worship service on Sundays at 10:00 a.m. and Wednesdays at 7:00 p.m. resulted from a phone call from Onnie Phillips placed to David Daniel in late March 2013, simply asking if David would be interested in coming to preach on Sundays.

After a brief meeting between Onnie and his brother Jack, and David and Cheryl Daniel, they all agreed to attend and help as the Lord led, since that first meeting of 4 people, it has since birthed into what we now recognize as New Hope Church of Prairie Grove, an “Old Fashioned Church dedicated to reaching out to others the”Good News” of Jesus Christ.
